Custom bowling balls

Custom bowling ballsIf you have been bowing for a while and you have noticed that your score has continued to climb higher and higher, it may be time for you to look into getting some custom bowling balls for yourself.

Your bowling progression can be stunted if you continue to just use the balls that are available at your local bowling alley. That’s because these balls are not made specifically for your needs. If you want to take the next step, you will need custom bowling balls that play to your strengths and help make up for your weaknesses.

As you begin the process of choosing what kind of custom bowling balls to use, there are a number of things you should keep in mind. A few of these things are listed here:

Get two balls

It is best to have at least two custom bowling balls made for you. One ball will be used on oilier lanes, while the other can be used on drier lanes. Also, you may want to get two more balls. The top bowlers have a strike ball that has a lot of hook potential and power as well as a spare ball, which is designed to roll straight and unwavering.

Get the right weight

Because the balls you use at the bowling alley don’t fit exactly right, you often get a lighter ball to help with the grip. However, if you get custom bowling balls made with exact finger sizes, you should actually be able to bowl with a slightly heavier ball.

This can be advantageous to you to have a heavier ball because a heavier ball will have more inertia behind it so that when it strikes you are more likely to make a strong impact on the pins.

You got money?

You need to set a budget before you start to shop for your custom bowling balls. Some balls could cost around $100, while others could cost several hundreds of dollars. While the more expensive balls are often better, that isn’t always the case.

Sometimes custom bowling balls end up costing more when they are glow-in-the-dark or include some other kind of novelty value to them. If you don’t need this, don’t pay extra for it. It may be best to stick with the basics if this is your first ball.

What material do you want?

Just like clothing can be made out of several different kinds of materials, so can custom bowling balls. Before purchasing one of these bowling balls, you should try to figure out which material could be the best for your use.

Plastic balls are the most common balls found at bowling alleys. They are cheap and durable. Buying custom bowling balls made from plastic may not be the best idea if you are truly trying to get better.

Urethane bowling balls may be a better choice if you are having custom bowling balls made and want to significantly improve your game. These balls are nice because they provide more traction on the lane and increase the ball’s hook potential.

Particle bowling balls are great for an experienced bowler who wants custom bowling balls made or for the beginner. These balls include particles of glass and ceramics that give the ball more hold on the lane. These balls have probably the greatest hook potential out of all of the balls.

Having an understanding of the technologies and needs in bowling will help you choose your custom bowling balls and will ultimately help you become a better bowler.
